April/15/2009 SNAPSHOTS
We attended the annual conference of ASA&NCOA and the 6th Boomer Business
Summit held in Las Vegas last March. We could see many sessions, more than
680 workshops, exhibitions and so on. These are the snapshots we took.

The program of the annual conference of ASA&NCOA.

NCOA's slogan was "Improving the lives of older Americans."

The session about independent living. They said that people who were now 50 would make full use of PCs and the Internet when they became 70."
|
We got a lot of hints about marketing researches, marketing methods, and
business chances on the boomer market. Networking was another mission for
us.
|

|
At 8 am in the morning, the conference started, which included the keynote
speech by Mr. Guy Kawasaki, four break out sessions, some presentations
and exchanges of opinions.
|

Mr. Guy Kawasaki started speaking.
|
In his speech "Art of Innovation," he showed us 11 important
check points such as "Make meaning", "Make Mantra." He also encouraged us to move forward and make a challenge.
|

He introduced some services.

The author and his readers.

Boomers are relatively active and healthy. I hear that especially "sonic
boomers" believe that they will live to the age of 90.

73% of boomers purchase things through the Internet. And word of mouth
has more influence than TV spots.

Lunch with speakers. Many women seem to make a big success in this field.

Caregiving is a big issue in America, too. Boomers often visit websites
to get information they want.

"Aging in place" is a phrase we get to hear more often. The last
session "What's the future? Caregiving and Aging in Place."

The 7th conference will be held next March in Chicago.
